US rig count falls falls for first time in six months
Since January, the number of rigs drilling for oil and gas in the US has been steadily increasing. However, the number of oil rigs dropped by two this week, reaching 756 units, according to the Baker Hughes weekly rig count. The number of gas rigs increased by one. This puts the total US rig count at 940, compared to last week’s 941.
One year ago, there were 431 rigs drilling in the US.
