Alan Quintero, Transocean, to lead 2016 IADC/SPE Drilling Conference
Alan Quintero, Transocean Senior VP, Operations West, has been selected as Chairman of the 2016 IADC/SPE Drilling Conference, to be held 1-3 March 2016 in Fort Worth, Texas. The event provides the opportunity for contractors, producers and service company professionals to meet, discuss, evaluate and share ideas to advance worldwide drilling operations, promote solutions to common problems and improve overall efficiency and profitability. “In this period of market uncertainty, it becomes even more important to make a step-change in safety and efficiency in drilling operations. The IADC/SPE Drilling Conference is the foremost venue for technical sharing in the drilling industry, and I’m humbled to serve as the chairman for the 2016 conference,” Mr Quintero said.
In Mr Quintero’s current position at Transocean, he is responsible for the company’s operations in the Americas and the North Sea, including US, Canada, Brazil, the UK and Norway.
Prior to being named to his current position in January 2013, Mr Quintero had served as Senior Vice President of Operations since August 2011. He joined Transocean in December 2010 as Vice President, Quality, Heath, Safety and Environment after 17 years with Atwood Oceanics, where he worked in various operational and engineering roles, including Senior Vice President of Operations. Mr Quintero has also worked in the E&P, engineering and service sides of the oil industry, including two years with Underwater Tools and six years with Exxon Company USA in various drilling, engineering and management positions.
Mr Quintero holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University. He is a member of the IADC Executive Committee.
