Measuring drilling efficiency through more than speed

Drilling fast and maximizing rate of penetration is important, but to increase the value of the well, the industry may need to view drilling performance through a different lens. It’s not just about speed, but we also need to maximize the effective length of the lateral and wellbore quality, and minimize tortuosity, said John Clegg, Weatherford Drilling Fellow.
