Switching to bi-fuel: factors to be considered

The drilling industry is increasingly turning to compressed natural gas (CNG) as an alternative fuel solution on drilling sites. Significant savings are possible compared with diesel, but several factors must be considered, Gary Hyer, US Division VP for CanGas Solutions, said. In this video from the 2014 IADC Drilling Onshore Conference in Houston on 15 May, Mr Hyer explains the benefits of switching to CNG and considerations such as source/quality of gas and daily rig consumption.
