Evolution of rig control systems key to continuous performance improvement

Rig control systems offer a wealth of opportunity for reducing NPT. However, to drive such improvement, drilling contractors must understand their control systems, and integration must be achieved to maximize performance. Data also must be leveraged, Randy Mutch, VP of Wellsite Technology at Ensign Energy Services, said in a keynote presentation at the 2016 IADC Advanced Rig Technology Conference on 14 September in Galveston, Texas.
