Integration of more services into rig infrastructure could help improve operator performance
In the mid-1990s, there were more than 20,000 internet service providers. Most of those companies were eventually pushed out of the market, however, and internet services today are dominated by companies that own the wire, cable and satellites that allow them to control and integrate their services. Drilling contractors should learn from this transition and begin to implement more services into their rig infrastructure. This can help operators to maximize cost per foot and barrels per well, said Todd Fox, Vice President, US Southern Region, Nabors Industries.
