It also includes BP’s upstream joint ventures and its renewable natural gas and CCS businesses. Gordon Birrell has been appointed Executive VP, Upstream.
3t Drilling Systems, UW renew collaboration
3t Drilling Systems and the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Wyoming (UW) recently renewed their memorandum of understanding. The partnership enables a training center for petroleum engineers that has been operational since 2019. UW also hosts one of 20 active IADC Student Chapters around the world.
Aker BP adds computer vision technology on Odfjell semi
Aker BP is expanding its deployment of DrillDocs’ CleanSight digital shaker surveillance system across its contracted rig fleet, with the latest installation taking place aboard Odfjell Drilling’s Deepsea Nordkapp semi.
The program is part of a framework agreement for technology development and implementation that was crafted following successful validation of CleanSight on the Noble Integrator drillship, where it has reduced nonproductive circulating time and enabled rapid detection of cavings, an early warning of potential borehole instability.
By combining advanced camera technology and data science, CleanSight delivers information to drilling crews so they can react in near-real-time to events happening in the wellbore.

New SLB service aims to enhance real-time visibility
SLB launched the AlphaSight logging-while-drilling service, a multi-depth azimuthal resistivity (MDAR) technology platform.
The service features the industry’s shortest extra-deep azimuthal resistivity sensor, positioned close to the bit with integrated downhole computing. It delivers 3D multi-depth reservoir mapping and a horizontal look-ahead-while-drilling capability, providing real-time subsurface data without affecting ROP.
AlphaSight has been field-proven across the Middle East, North Sea, North America and Asia, where it has been used to improve reservoir contact and overall drilling outcomes.
SLB said the service is the first in its new Sight family of advanced measurement solutions.
EZOps mobile platform introduces new AI feature
EZOps launched EZTasks.ai, an AI feature within the EZOps Mobile Oilfield Platform that enables field workers to log tasks from voice input, pasted text or uploaded files. The feature allows personnel to speak observations or instructions directly into the platform, paste text from emails or reports, or upload documents and images. The AI will then extract and structure the relevant task information. Streamlining the process of logging tasks can be especially useful for field technicians working in high-activity environments.
IFS Zero uses agentic AI to measure emissions in real time
IFS recently launched IFS Zero, an agentic emissions operating system that provides a single, unified calculation platform for companies to measure, disclose and optimize their carbon emissions across Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 categories.
The system utilizes AI agents to automatically map sources, flag anomalies and reduce manual data collection. Unlike solutions that rely on spreadsheets or standalone reporting, IFS Zero connects directly into a user’s live operational data in the IFS Cloud. It works in sync with the broader IFS Sustainability Management module, which provides an overarching framework for enterprise-wide sustainability disclosures. IFS Zero focuses on carbon to provide granular, real-time emissions data.
