OSHA Multi-Employer Citation Policy, potential impact on energy industry
With multi-employer scenarios commonplace in oil and gas, OSHA’s citation policy puts general contractors at risk of a citation even in instances where they do not have a direct hiring relationship with the secondary sub-contractor in violation. At the 2019 IADC Drilling Onshore Conference & Exhibition, Ken Bullock, a shareholder with Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr, said the challenge will be how to minimize potential civil liability while complying with the Multi-Employer Citation Policy.
