Coiled tubing-conveyed monitoring system aims to maximize production, intervention success

A new coiled-tubing service is providing a method for continuous, real-time monitoring of horizontal or highly deviated wells by installing fiber optics inside various sizes of coiled tubing. CoilComm, launched by Halliburton at the 2015 SPE/ICoTA Coiled Tubing and Well Intervention Conference in The Woodlands, Texas, on 24 March, allows operators to identify which producing zones are benefitting from stimulation treatment and which are being bypassed by measuring depth correlation and temperature profiles in a single trip into the wellbore.
