Baker Hughes reports 11-rig decrease in US rig count
The US rig count fell by 11 this week, reaching 898 rigs, according to the Baker Hughes weekly rig count. Onshore, US drillers idled nine rigs, putting the active land rig count at 879. Offshore, the count dropped from 20 to 18 rigs.
Of the total US rig count, 729 are drilling for oil and 169 for gas. One week ago, those numbers stood at 737 and 172, respectively.
