IADC rolls out revised Standard Format Equipment List for Floating Drilling Units
IADC released its newly revised 2024 edition of the IADC Standard Format Equipment List for Floating Drilling Units. This edition, which replaces the original 1993 edition, includes many of the technological advances in rig equipment seen in recent years.
IADC has several model contracts that cover both onshore and offshore drilling projects, covering both domestic US and International work. The IADC Standard Format Equipment list for Floating Drilling Units is one of the primary components of the offshore model contract.
The equipment list provides a comprehensive summary of all relevant items of equipment to help streamline the tender process for contractors and operators. Among the new additions in the revised list of equipment items are managed pressure drilling/underbalanced drilling equipment and more detailed BOP information.

Student Chapter starts at Indian Institute of Technology
On 3 October, India’s third IADC Student Chapter was inaugurated at the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) in Dhanbad in the state of Jharkhand.
The inauguration was witnessed by several dignitaries, including OP Singh, Director at ONGC and Chairman of the IADC South Central Asia Chapter.
The two other existing IADC Student Chapters in India are at the Maharashtra Institute of Technology – World Peace University in Pune in the state of Maharashtra, and the Pandit Deendayal Energy University in Ahmadebad in the state of Gujarat.
Nigeria Chapter recognizes active ISP participants
The 2024 IADC Nigeria Chapter HSE Awards and Technical Session was held on 13 September. The chapter honored member companies that actively participated in the 2023 ISP and recognized the Petroleum Training Institute IADC Student Chapter.
