Catoosa Test Facility adds third testing rig
Catoosa Test Facility (CTF) has added a third testing rig to the test campus in Jennings, Okla. Nabors Industries has furnished, through a subsidiary of one of its drilling rigs under a long-term arrangement to CTF for research and development activities related to drilling operations, advanced wellbore placement technologies and other oilfield tool testing and verification services.
The PACE-M550 rig is a 1,000-horsepower AC rig, equipped with Nabors’ Rigtelligent modular rig operating control system, which automates many repetitive tasks while integrating data from both downhole tools and surface systems. The walking, all electric rig is operated and maintained by CTF employees who have been trained and certified to operate this specific rig.
The Catoosa Test Facility is commercially available to technology-focused oilfield companies for drilling test wells wherein new or existing drilling equipment, tools or techniques can be tested under various actual drilling conditions in a low-risk, cost-effective, confidential and independent environment. The facility is 100% privately and independently owned and operated.
