Young Professionals Subcommittee provides network for new oil and gas talent
As an aging workforce continues to leave the oil and gas industry, newcomers must begin to carry the torch. To aid in this transition, the 2015 SPE/IADC Drilling Conference formed the Young Professionals Subcommittee and created a dedicated half-day program at the conference for newer industry employees. The program gives less experienced workers a means to network, as well as gain insight from seasoned veterans. In this video, Gerlof Visser, Co-Chairman of the Young Professionals Subcommittee, tells DC Editorial Coordinator Alex Endress why it’s important to have a group dedicated to young employees and explains the necessity of investing in the development of young talent.
