Shell’s Sky scenario defines path to zero-emissions world
Shell recently issued its Sky scenario, which describes a possible if challenging pathway for society to realize a long-term goal set out in the Paris Agreement to keep warming “well below” 2C°. But in order for this scenario to become reality, a broad range of stakeholders need to come together and collaborate, said Martijn Dekker, Shell’s VP Strategy for Projects and Technology, at the 2019 IADC Drilling HSET Europe Conference in Amsterdam. In this video with DC, Mr Dekker discusses why the oil and gas industry should engage in more climate change discussions and how it can better position itself to be a part of the solution.
