Valaris signs extension, new contract for two drillships

Valaris was awarded a 940-day contract extension for drillship VALARIS DS-16, starting in June 2026, and a new 914-day contract for drillship VALARIS DS-18, that is expected to start in mid-Q4 2026, with Anadarko Petroleum in the US Gulf of Mexico.

Both drillships feature NOV drilling systems and a maximum drilling depth of 40,000 ft. DS-16 was delivered in 2014, while DS-18 dates to 2015.

The combined addition to contracted revenue backlog is approximately $760 million.
