Quintero: Industry should look to storytelling techniques to ensure lessons are learned from incidents
Storytelling is a powerful device for helping humans to remember lessons learned. For ages, it has been a primary method of communication that humans have used for passing on knowledge and history. In the drilling industry, storytelling can play an important role, as well. In particular, companies can use this method to help employees retain lessons learned from incidents by linking the reasoning behind safe drilling procedures with real-life stories of tragic accidents that caused the need for such procedures.
