IADC SAPC highlights mental health, safety winners

The IADC Southern Arabian Peninsula Chapter (SAPC) welcomed 151 attendees to its Q2 meeting on 16 May in Dubai. The event featured a panel discussion centered on mental health. Executive and Performance Coach Ciarán McBreen also delivered a workshop on listening and mental health. 

The chapter then recognized and celebrated the winners of the IADC SAPC Annual Safety Awards for 2023.

Scholarships added to IADC Student Chapter Program

IADC is expanding its IADC Student Chapter Program to include a scholarship program. Up to 20 scholarships of $5,000 each are being planned, with applications opening in August 2024. Applicants must be active or incoming IADC Student Chapter members, and all grade levels will be accepted. 

The application checklist includes transcript, GPA requirement, letter of recommendation and essay.

Since 2017, IADC Student Chapters have been providing opportunities to supplement academic education with first-hand experiences and networking opportunities within the industry. 

2nd annual DrillersPAC 3-gun shoot set for October

Registration is open for the 2nd annual IADC DrillersPAC 3-Gun Competition, to be held on 18 October at the Renaissance Shooting Club in Todd Mission, Texas. The event’s goal is to generate awareness and raise funds for DrillersPAC, IADC’s political action committee. DrillersPAC helps maximize the impact of IADC’s advocacy efforts by raising money to support political candidates aligned with IADC and members’ policy goals.

Lamberto Nonno recognized for exemplary service

Lamberto Nonno, Global HSE Director, Governance and Customer Excellence – OFSE for Baker Hughes, received an IADC Exemplary Service Award on 18 June at the 2024 IADC World Drilling Conference in Madrid. Among his work with IADC, Mr Nonno has served on the Program Committee for the IADC HSE & Sustainability Europe Conference since 2018 and on the Program Committee for the IADC World Drilling Conference since 2020. Mr Nonno joined Baker Hughes in 2005 and holds a Master’s in mechanical engineering from the Polytechnic University of Marche in Italy.
