NOV to deliver $1.5 billion in drillship equipment packages to Brazil
National Oilwell Varco (NOV) and Brazil’s Estaleiro Atlantico Sul (EAS) recently signed seven contracts worth $1.5 billion for drillship equipment packages, including drilling riser and pressure control equipment. This is the largest single order in NOV’s 150-year history. EAS won a bid for the construction of seven drillships for Petrobras earlier this year.
“Brazil’s extraordinary deepwater discoveries of the past several years have transformed it into one of the most significant offshore markets we serve, and one where we expect to continue to grow,” Pete Miller, NOV president and CEO, said. “We are investing heavily in Brazil to manufacture more of the products and technologies NOV provides to our oil and gas customers and to service the rapidly growing installed base of NOV drilling equipment in the region.”
