Seadrill’s West Triton & Offshore Resolute to drill in Arabian Gulf

Al-Khafji Joint Operations (KJO) has awarded Seadrill two contracts in the joint development zone between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait for the West Triton and Offshore Resolute jackups. The assignments, each for a firm period of three years plus the time required to mobilize to the Arabian Gulf, will commence immediately following current contracts being carried out in Southeast Asia. Each contract also includes an option for KJO to extend the term for an additional year.

“These new contracts will strengthen the relationship with KJO, one of the key customers in the Arabian Gulf,” Seadrill CEO Alf Thorkildsen said. “In addition, relocating two rigs for term work and at attractive market rates serves our strategic desire to increase our long-term presence in this active oil and gas region.”
