Cybersecurity, offshore advances among key topics to be addressed at this year’s ADIPEC

Industry members will have the opportunity to engage with oil and gas leaders and gain insight into top oil and gas trends at this year’s Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC), to be held 13-16 November in Abu Dhabi. The focus this year is to enable minister-to-global business leader strategic dialogue, under a conference theme of “Forging Ties. Driving Growth.”

“The key to growth for oil and gas companies will be to find new ideas, and to share information in the pursuit of best practice,” said Ali Al Rawahi, Reservoir Manager – Studies (BUH/SE Asset) for Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Petroleum Operations (ADCO) and ADIPEC 2017 Technical Conference Chairman. “ADIPEC is clearly established as the leading platform for knowledge exchange in oil and gas. What the conference offers has never been more important than it is today. Resource owners are getting better prices for their product, but nobody can rely on further rises to ensure their business. The focus will continue to be on improving efficiency and reducing cost, which can only be achieved through sharing experience between companies and across borders.”

More than 200 sessions across the technical and non-technical conferences are scheduled throughout the four-day event. Key returning conference sessions include an offshore and marine exhibition that showcases offshore, subsea drilling equipment, pipelines and tools; and the Women in Industry Conference, which addresses gender balance in the energy sector. The program will also feature ADIPEC’s second annual Security in Energy Conference, which highlights the critical infrastructure threats in the Middle East and strategies for building a defense platform against cyber-attacks. New to this year is the Downstream Conference, which includes technical sessions relating to global downstream expansion, diversification and technology innovation.
