Chevron, Aker BP reshuffle senior leadership for 2027
Chevron and Aker BP each unveiled senior leadership changes that take effect 1 January 2027, including a CFO swap at Chevron and a restructured executive team at Aker BP.
Chevron announced on 5 October that CFO Eimear Bonner will become president of Oil, Products & Gas, with Jeff Gustavson, currently president of New Energies, succeeding her as CFO. Brent Gros, president of Offshore, will move to president of New Energies, where he will also oversee the company’s AI strategy. Vice Chairman Mark Nelson, currently also EVP of Oil, Products & Gas, will remain vice chairman and take responsibility for strategy and business development.
Aker BP named its new executive management team on 2 October, organized around the value chain from exploration to production and led by CEO Karl Johnny Hersvik. Petter Sørhaug will head Find & Develop, Tommy Sigmundstad Build, Lars Høier Produce, Øystein Arvesen Optimise and Knut Sandvik PDO Projects. David Tønne remains CFO. The current executive team stays in place until 1 January.
Until year-end, the new team will design an operating model intended to mature projects faster and more cost-effectively, with fewer organizational interfaces and less complexity. “The shelf is changing, and tomorrow’s shelf requires something different from us than yesterday’s did,” said Hersvik.
