Sporting clay tournament to benefit families of Macondo blowout victims

A sporting clay tournament will be held 24-25 September to benefit families of the Macondo blowout victims. The event, organized by the nonprofit group Oilfield Helping Hands, will take place at the Bentley Ranch, aka Baroid on the Brazos, just west of Houston.

Proceeds will go to assist the immediate needs of the families affected and to set up an educational trust fund in the names of the children who lost their fathers on 20 April.

Practice rounds will begin on 24 September, and the tournament will be held on 25 September. Food will be offered at the event, and there will also be special raffles and a silent auction.

Sponsorships, donations and volunteer applications are being accepted.

Sponsorships include:

Event/title sponsor: $25,000, includes signs and seven teams

Course sponsors: 2 x $10,000, includes signs and five teams

Diamond sponsors: $7,500, includes signs and four teams

Gold sponsors: $5,000, includes four teams

Silver sponsors: $2,500, includes two teams

Bronze sponsors: $1,000, includes one team

Station/tent sponsors (provide tent personnel and drinks at each station): $500

Clay sponsor: $2,500, includes one team

Team sponsor: $750 for five-member team
