NG Energy spuds second Sinú-9 well, targets new gas zone

NG Energy reported that M&P Colombia spudded the Magico-2X well, the second of a six-well 2026 drilling program at the Sinú-9 block in Colombia, on 26 June 2026, primarily targeting the Pre-CDO-San Cayetano formation. NGE holds a 39% non-operating working interest in Sinú-9. The well is designed with three sections to a total measured depth of 7,500 ft, with drilling and completion expected to take approximately 35 days before the well is tied into the central processing facility.

The target formation follows strong results at the Hechicero-1X well, which tested at rates of up to 26.4 MMcf/d gross (10.3 MMcf/d net) from the same zone. M&P Colombia is managing Hechicero-1X at a sustainable rate of approximately 15 MMcf/d gross (5.85 MMcf/d net). Current production at Sinú-9 is approximately 17.5 MMcf/d gross (6.8 MMcf/d net).

At the Maria Conchita block, total field production is currently approximately 14.8 MMcf/d gross (11.8 MMcf/d net). The next development well, Aruchara-6, is expected to spud following completion of the ongoing Aruchara-1 workover, targeted for 10 July 2026.
