Bandera’s Zacniewski receives IADC Exemplary Service Award
IADC awarded Bandera Drilling’s Anthony Zacniewski with an Exemplary Service Award at the 2014 IADC Health, Safety, Environment and Training Conference in Houston on 4 February. Mr Zacniewski was recognized for his work as a member of the IADC Board of Directors, chairman of the IADC Rig Moving Committee and co-team leader on the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) project. He also is participating in the rewrite of the IADC Drilling Manual. “IADC works for the oil and gas industry in many diverse ways and areas. Without IADC’s assistance and guidance, many of the contractors out there would be lost. It is, therefore, vitally important that our contractors actively participate on IADC’s committees and in its chapters,” Mr Zacniewski said.
“I thank IADC for this award on behalf of the hard work of all of the members that I have had the pleasure of working with over the years. This is truly an honor,” he continued. IADC exemplary service awards recognize individuals for their outstanding contributions to IADC and their commitment to improving and advancing the industry’s safety, training and technology.
Mr Zacniewski has worked in the field of safety since 1987. He began his career as a patrolman for the New Mexico State Police before entering the energy sector in 1996. He then worked as a roughneck before and became a safety representative in 2003. In 2005 he joined Bandera Drilling as a safety manager before moving into his current role as HSE director.
Mr Zacniewski also serves the president of the Permian Basin STEPS network, a member of the Texas Oil & Gas Roundtable and on the NIOSH NORA Oil & Gas Exploration Council.
