T-200 unloading returns no formation oil at Badr field in Egypt

No formation oil reached surface during 48 hours of unloading at TAG Oil’s T-200 well at the Badr oil field (BED-1) in Egypt’s Western Desert, pointing to restricted flow.

The vertical well was drilled and completed on budget to 4,160 m, targeting the Abu Roash F reservoir. TAG Oil used nitrogen lifting through coiled tubing to displace the brine in the production tubing. The company’s preliminary interpretation is that the result may be associated with near-wellbore formation damage or reservoir skin.

The well was shut in so the drilling rig can be released from the location. An acid stimulation treatment will then be carried out to improve wellbore clean-up and restore formation flow capacity, after which the well will be retested to determine its stabilized production rate. TAG Oil will provide a further update with its third-quarter 2026 results on 25 November 2026.
