Perenco UK completes P&A of Leman South and Durango subsea wells

Perenco UK completed the plugging and abandonment (P&A) of the Leman South (53/02a-15Y) and Durango (48/21a-4z) subsea wells in the Southern North Sea, along with removal of the associated subsea infrastructure. Both assets were decommissioned within a single campaign framework.

Petrodec, part of the Dixstone group, carried out the work using its HAEVA jackup. Perenco said the operations were conducted safely and to the agreed timeframe.

The campaign built on experience from the Gawain, Arthur and Davy subsea abandonment projects, which also used the HAEVA. According to Perenco, the single-campaign approach centered on the jackup avoids relying exclusively on high-cost drilling rigs and standalone offshore projects.
