PTTEP, Valeura take FID on Bussabong gas field development
PTTEP and partner Valeura Energy sanctioned the first phase of the Bussabong gas field development in Block G3/65, offshore Gulf of Thailand.
Phase 1 calls for two gas wellhead platforms with 24 well slots each, tied back by a 9-km subsea pipeline to the Central Processing Platform at the nearby North Bongkot field in Block G2/61, which PTTEP also operates. The plan includes drilling 25 development wells.
PTTEP holds a 60% operated interest in Bussabong and Valeura holds the remaining 40% following completion of a farm-in agreement. First gas production is targeted for around year end 2028 at a rate of about 30 mmcf/d, rising to 40 mmcf/d by 2030.
PTTEP and Valeura also plan further exploration on Block G3/65, including an exploration well at the Nong Yao Northeast prospect. Thailand’s regulator has approved a defined production area for Bussabong, and the partners expect further phased development of the field.
