VAALCO kicks off Ebouri drilling after strong Etame well result in Gabon

VAALCO Energy reported an initial flow rate of approximately 4,850 gross bbl/d from the Etame 14H development well offshore Gabon, and mobilized the rig to the Ebouri platform to continue its drilling campaign.
The Etame 14H well, drilled in an attic position within the Main Fault Block of the Etame field, encountered 325 m of net pay in Gamba reservoir sands with better-than-expected porosity and permeability. Net production to VAALCO is approximately 2,850 bbl/d.
The rig has since moved to the Ebouri platform, where drilling has commenced on the EEBOM-5H development well. The EEBOM-5H targets an updip position via a sidetrack from the previously abandoned EEBOM-5P well. VAALCO also plans to workover two other wells at Ebouri.
Separately, the Baobab Ivorien FPSO completed a 47-day tow from the Dry Dock World shipyard in Dubai, where it underwent a full refurbishment, and arrived back offshore Côte d’Ivoire on 2 April. The vessel is now moored on location and reconnection of risers and umbilicals is underway. Restart of production from the Baobab field in the CI-40 block remains on track for Q2 2026.
