VAALCO closes out Gabon Phase 3 and begins drilling at Baobab

VAALCO Energy completed its offshore Gabon Phase 3 drilling program with the ETSEM-3H development well, which was drilled, completed and placed on production in an attic position within the SE Etame field. The well has a 300-m lateral wellbore of net pay in high-quality Gamba reservoir sands and stabilized at an initial rate of about 2,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) gross, or 1,140 bopd net to VAALCO.
The Borr Norve rig has been demobilized from the SE Etame platform following the well.
Offshore Côte d’Ivoire, drilling operations for the Baobab Phase 5 program began with the batch-setting of top-holes by the operator. Once the top-hole sections of all wells are drilled, the wells will be completed and placed on production sequentially. The program includes four producers, three water injectors and two workovers, and the first producer is expected online near the end of 2026.
