Trio Petroleum farms in to 14-well Lloydminster multilateral program

Trio Petroleum signed a farm-in and development agreement with Calgary-based Croverro Energy covering up to 14 new multilateral heavy-oil wells in the Lloydminster region of Alberta and Saskatchewan. Croverro will remain operator of the program.

The drilling inventory includes five wells in Alberta at Lloyd South and Rivercourse and nine in Saskatchewan at Lloyd East, Paynton, Hillmond and Marshall. The program is set to begin almost immediately and run over approximately the next 18 months. Each well will consist of a primary horizontal wellbore with multiple lateral branches. The design is intended to increase reservoir contact in the region’s thin, laterally extensive heavy-oil reservoirs.

The wells will be drilled through a series of two-well earning programs. The agreement also includes a separate re-entry opportunity at Rivercourse and the acquisition of a producing property. Croverro will handle geological evaluation, well design, drilling, completion and production operations.
