Gardline announces new CEO to drive Gardline’s 2019 growth strategy and empower the transforming energy sector

Gardline has announced the appointment of Christiaan Vermeijden as Chief Executive Officer. Christiaan Vermeijden will replace Gardline’s current interim CEO, Gerben Eggink.

“I am honoured to become CEO of Gardline, a company I have long admired for its strong reputation and rich heritage,” Mr Vermeijden said. “I am looking forward to working with my new colleagues to make Gardline even more successful and realize its mission of empowering an energy industry in transition with marine surveying that is second-to-none.”

“We’re seeing the green shoots of a recovery in offshore exploration and production, and consistent strong growth in offshore renewables,” Mr Vermeijden added. “Our partners recognize that Gardline’s marine geophysical, geotechnical, and environmental surveys will be vital for them to succeed in a transforming energy sector.”

MrVermeijden joins Gardline after leaving his position as CEO at Norway-based Electromagnetic Geoservices ASA (EMGS). Prior to his role with EMGS, he was part of the Executive Management Team and Global Offshore Geotechnical Director at Fugro N.V.

“On behalf of all our colleagues and Boskalis, I would like to extend a warm welcome to Christiaan and wish him success in his new position,” Mr Eggink said. “With his impressive track record of technical understanding and managerial expertise, I am certain that he is well positioned to build further on the success and reputation of Gardline as we help enable the transformation that is happening in the offshore and subsea energy markets.”

Mr Vermeijden holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Physical Geography from the University of Amsterdam and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Rotterdam School of Management.
