Shell adds two Silvertip wells to Perdido production in US Gulf

Shell Offshore started production from Phase 3 of the Silvertip project, bringing two wells onstream at the Shell-operated Perdido spar in the US Gulf. The wells, in the Silvertip Frio reservoir, are tied into existing subsea infrastructure and are expected to produce up to 6,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed) combined at peak rates.
Estimated recoverable resources for Phase 3 are 17 million boe, classified as 2P. Both the peak rate and the resource estimate are on a 100% gross basis. Shell operates Silvertip Frio with a 40% interest, and Chevron holds the remaining 60%.
Perdido sits in Alaminos Canyon, about 200 miles south of Galveston, Texas, in about 8,000 ft of water. Shell operates the Perdido Regional Host with a 35% working interest. Chevron holds 37.5%, 3C Perdido Holdings 26.5% and BP 1%.
