Real-time operations centers drive standardization, best practices
The combination of real-time operations centers and new technologies like automation, data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) are helping drilling contractors to standardize their operations and measure themselves against best practices. Nabors Drilling and its subsidiary, Canrig Drilling Technology, have been leveraging the internet of things and real-time operations centers to push drilling performance to the next level. In this video from 7 March at the 2018 IADC/SPE Drilling Conference in Fort Worth, Texas, Seth Robert, Director of Southern Operations for Canrig, explains how real-time operations centers have evolved over the years, particularly with the adoption of automation, advanced analytics and AI. He also discusses how this evolution is impacting the skill set needed from field service technicians.
