Petrobras installs subsea smart completion with Halliburton’s Optime ROCS in Brazil

Optime, a Halliburton service, completed the first Brazil deployment of its Remote Operated Control System (ROCS), working with Petrobras on a deepwater well. Petrobras used the system to install a subsea smart completion.

ROCS eliminates the traditional control umbilicals used during completion operations, which reduces equipment requirements and streamlines offshore execution. Halliburton and Petrobras worked together through planning, system integration, testing and offshore execution.

The project lays the foundation for additional ROCS applications globally, according to Halliburton.
