Northern Ocean books Deepsea Mira for Shell Caribbean campaign

Northern Ocean signed a contract with a Shell subsidiary for the semisubmersible Deepsea Mira, with operations expected to begin in April 2027.

The firm term covers a drilling program in Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean, with an estimated duration of 150 days. The contract also includes an optional one-year program in the region.

Odfjell Drilling is the rig’s operating partner. The award follows the Deepsea Mira’s earlier work for Shell in Namibia.
