Africa (top left) averaged 90 active rigs in this year’s census, dominated by Algeria. The Middle East (top right) averaged 303 active rigs, with only Abu Dhabi showing constant growth. Asia Pacific (bottom left) averaged 116 active rigs; this does not include China. Latin America averaged 103 active rigs, with Argentina and Mexico both showing declines.
