Equinor teams with Aker BP, Vår Energi for joint North Sea exploration push

Equinor, Aker BP and Vår Energi agreed to a strategic exploration collaboration targeting some of the largest remaining opportunities on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The three companies will combine expertise, data, technology and exploration capacity to pursue high-impact prospects that individually carry higher geological uncertainty, greater complexity and larger investment requirements.

Over the next four to five years, the group plans to mature and test a portfolio of approximately 20-25 exploration opportunities, with an ambition to drill around five high-impact exploration wells annually.
