DeltaTek announces successful completion of SeaCure deployment

DeltaTek Global has announced the successful completion of its first SeaCure deployment for Total E&P UK.

Located in the energy major’s Ballindalloch oil field, this workscope was the first 20-inch surface casing SeaCure job completed in the North Sea. SeaCure was deployed from the Ocean Valiant mobile offshore drilling unit in a water depth of 115 m.

DeltaTek’s SeaCure service provides stabbed-in, inner string cementing for subsea wells which delivers significant rig time savings. Benefits include no need for shoe tracks and therefore clean out runs, improved cement placement and reduced displacement, offline casing pressure testing, improved drill out performance and minimized risk of damage to the bottom hole assembly.

“We are absolutely delighted with the results of the Total deployment,” Dave Shand, Chief Commercial and Operations Officer of DeltaTek, said.
“A key deliverable was to get cement back to the seabed – SeaCure facilitates improved cement placement and this was the first time cement has successfully been brought back to the seabed in this part of the North Sea. The DeltaTek team executed the job with clinical precision, minimizing the volume of cement pumped, cement contamination, displacement and the patio around the well head.”

“This project was a major success and again illustrated how SeaCure can optimize drilling operations,” Mr Shand said.

Launched in 2015, DeltaTek’s disruptive innovations, SeaCure, ArticuLock, ControlCure and QuikCure were created in response to the growing requirement for efficiently implemented, intelligent, cost-saving and risk-reducing products.
