Well-Safe Defender completes three-well P&A campaign off UK

Well-Safe Solutions completed a three-well plug and abandonment (P&A) campaign with its Well-Safe Defender semisubmersible, decommissioning one subsea well West of Shetland and two in the northern North Sea.

After finishing its five-yearly special periodic survey, the rig mobilized for Well-Safe’s first end-to-end Well Operatorship contract, carrying out P&A operations on an undisclosed client’s subsea well. The scope combined project management, subsurface and basis of design, engineering and rig provision under a single delivery model.

The Well-Safe Defender was then towed to the Magnus field, where it decommissioned two further wells for EnQuest under a multi-year contract.
