Arrow drills first Carbonera horizontal well on Colombia’s Tapir Block

Arrow Exploration brought the IC-8 and IC-7 wells onstream at the Icaco field on the Tapir Block in Colombia’s Llanos Basin, helping push total corporate production above 6,500 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed), a company record. Arrow holds a 50% beneficial interest in the block.
The IC-8 sidetrack well spud on 21 September 2026 and reached total depth on 3 October at 11,000 ft measured depth (7,384 ft TVD). It encountered net pay in the Carbonera C7, Guadalupe, Lower Gacheta and Ubaque formations, including 23 ft TVD in the C7 and 30 ft TVD in the Ubaque.
The well went on production on 12 October from the C7 at a restricted rate of about 1,204 barrels of oil per day (bopd) gross (602 bopd net) on a 27/128 choke, with 28.2° API oil and a 33% water cut, and it is still cleaning up.
IC-7 spud on 1 September and reached total depth on 7 September at 13,000 ft measured depth (7,347 ft TVD), finding 15 ft TVD of net pay in the C7 and 57 ft TVD in the Ubaque. It began producing on 20 September from the Ubaque at a restricted rate of about 248 bopd gross (124 bopd net) on a 20/128 choke, with 13.2° API oil and a 31% water cut.
Arrow also spud the IC-HZ9 horizontal well on 13 October and finished drilling on 20 October. The well targets the Carbonera C7 and is the first horizontal well in the Carbonera reservoir on the Tapir Block, with about 950 ft of horizontal oil pay measured to date.
