PDO taps Weatherford for 274-well drilling program in Oman

Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) signed a three-year integrated drilling services contract with Weatherford on 21 September 2026, covering 274 wells in Marmul and the Greater Saqar area. The contract supports PDO’s plans to increase production and improve operational efficiency.

Weatherford will drill oil production and water injection wells under a phased implementation program. PDO said the approach allows for greater execution efficiency and more precise planning and allocation of drilling rigs and resources across the targeted fields.
