Hornbeck wins multi-year North Sea P&A contract

Hornbeck Offshore Services secured a multi-year contract for riserless plug and abandonment work in the North Sea through its subsidiary Helix Well Ops, with an undisclosed major operator.

The contract is set to begin in Q2 2027 and carries a firm two-year term, with customer options to extend. Hornbeck will perform the work using either the Well Enhancer or Seawell riserless well intervention vessels, delivering an integrated package that includes a subsea intervention lubricator well access system, ROVs, saturation diving and project management and engineering services.

The award follows Hornbeck’s recent merger with Helix Energy Solutions, which combined the two companies into a single offshore services provider operating under the Hornbeck name. Hornbeck shareholders hold about 55% of the merged company and Helix shareholders about 45%.
