Transocean drillship lands new work offshore Equatorial Guinea

Transocean secured a two-well contract for the ultra-deepwater drillship Deepwater Conqueror to work offshore Equatorial Guinea for an undisclosed operator. The estimated 170-day campaign is expected to begin in 2027, in direct continuation of the rig’s current contract in the US Gulf.

The Deepwater Conqueror is a DSME 12000 ultra-deepwater dual-activity drillship, built by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering and delivered to Transocean in 2016. The rig is rated to operate in water depths of up to 12,000 ft and can drill to a maximum depth of 40,000 ft.
