Zefiro secures state-funded well-plugging contract in Great Lakes region

Zefiro was awarded a well-plugging services contract by an environmental protection department for a state in the Great Lakes region, with work scheduled to run from November 2026 through June 2029.
The contract will be carried out through Zefiro’s operating subsidiary Plants & Goodwin, a well services company with more than 50 years of operating history. Zefiro said the award builds on a growing portfolio of state-funded well remediation projects across its operating territory in the northeastern United States, along with regions added through recent equipment acquisitions and a partnership with the Well Done Foundation.
The award follows a June 2025 contract from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for Zefiro to perform remediation work on approximately 200 high-priority marginal wells over a three-year term. Zefiro specializes in methane abatement and the plugging of orphaned and end-of-life oil and gas wells, operating across 13 US states.
