Petrobras acquires operatorship of Block 3 offshore São Tomé and Príncipe

Petrobras signed an agreement to acquire a 75% interest and operatorship of Block 3 offshore São Tomé and Príncipe, Africa, from Oranto Petroleum. Petrobras resumed activities on the African continent in 2024 and already holds interests in blocks in São Tomé and Príncipe.
The current consortium comprises Oranto as operator with a 90% interest and the National Petroleum Agency of São Tomé and Príncipe (ANP-STP) with 10%. Upon completion, the consortium will consist of Petrobras as operator with 75%, Oranto with 15% and ANP-STP with 10%. The transaction remains subject to governmental and regulatory approvals in São Tomé and Príncipe.
