US rig count increases by four: Baker Hughes
Baker Hughes’ most recent rotary rig count, released on 5 July, shows that North America added three rigs week over week.
The overall number of rigs in North America increased to 760, with 585 rigs from the United States and 175 rigs from Canada, per that count. The United States added four rigs and Canada lost one rig per week.
The US has 585 rigs in total, with 562 being land rigs and 23 being offshore rigs. The census shows that there are 479 oil rigs, 101 gas rigs, and 5 miscellaneous rigs in the country. There are 517 horizontal rigs, 50 directional rigs, and 18 vertical rigs.
