H&P introduces solution to optimize power usage, reduce fuel consumption at the rig

At the 2022 IADC/SPE International Drilling Conference in Galveston, Texas, Helmerich and Payne (H&P) launched its new Engine Management solution, which is focused on reducing fuel consumption and hazardous emissions from the wellsite. In this interview with DC from the exhibition floor of the conference on 8 March, Sonny Auld, Product Manager at H&P, explains how the solution works and the value that customers have already gained in the field. Mr Auld also spoke about how the solution fits within H&P’s larger ESG Power Generation Roadmap – he described it as the first step in the company’s push for greater sustainability.
