Pad design, size can impact success of emergency well control operations

The size and layout of many pad drilling sites can make containing a blowout and the resulting fire challenging, particularly when the wells are closely spaced together, Scott Jortner, Senior Technical Advisor for Wild Well Control, explained at the 2017 IADC Well Control Conference in Galveston, Texas.
