Cameron opens manufacturing, repair center in China’s Shandong province
Cameron has commenced operations of its centrifugal compression business at the Gaomi manufacturing and repair center located in the Shandong province of China. The 104,000-sq-ft (9662-sq-meter) facility in the Gaomi Industrial Park is the center of excellence for centrifugal air and gas compressor packages for the Asia Pacific region. The new facility is equipped with balancing machines, numeric-control machine tools and testing capabilities up to 3500 hp.
The Gaomi facility also houses a repair center capable of rotor repairs and balancing of TURBO-AIR and MSG compressors, as well as legacy JOY compressors. The repair center undertook the first overhaul of a MSG-3 gas compressor in December 2012. The repair center is capable of component repair, as well as complete compressor package overhaul. The operation also includes an aftermarket parts warehouse supporting Cameron’s reciprocating and centrifugal products.
Cameron opened the Gaomi facility in early 2012 manufacturing AJAX and SUPERIOR reciprocating products. The facility currently builds AJAX E-565 and SUPERIOR CFA-32 products for both domestic and export markets.
“Our market is shifting geographically and the Gaomi facility brings us closer to one of our fastest growing markets,” said Owen Serjeant, president of Cameron’s Process & Compression Systems business segment. “By establishing this facility, we can better serve customers with the high-quality compression products and services they expect from Cameron.”
TURBO-AIR, MSG, AJAX and SUPERIRO are registered terms of Cameron.
