Young professional: Engagement, opportunities critical to attracting, keeping new talent

For the better part of a decade, the drilling industry has been working to bring in and develop new talent – aware that the Big Crew Change is under way. At IADC World Drilling 2015 in Rome last week, the industry heard from four young professionals who have been recruited into the industry over the past decade, highlighting their career paths and the challenges and opportunities they face. In this video, DC speaks with one of these young professionals – Rium Tapjan, Project Manager-R&D Technology Center for National Oilwell Varco. Watch the video as Ms Tapjan explains how young professionals can develop positive working relationships with their more experienced colleagues, and how companies can keep their young employees engaged.
